I Found It!

Well, most of it. This is what has survived from the first roll of film I ever shot. The roll that would play a critical role in getting the ball rolling for my film \’journey\’. Vista Plus 200. Now, stop rolling your eyes and listen to this information carefully, as it\’s vital in setting the scene.

It\’s after the summer of twenty sixteen and If you\’re reading this I\’m going to assume that you also recall this era to be the peak. I was only just seventeen. Young, dumb and full with an insatiable desire to be around cars. That or get fucked up. Life was essentially lived from one session to another. It took me months to take all thirty six shots. From what I can remember – the other half weren\’t any good. During this period I somehow managed to save up for an S13, buy one, five stud converted it and put some 33 GTR\’s on it. I drove it three times and got stickered.

As devastated as I was, getting those photos back scratched a spiteful itch I had somewhere.

The other flicks taken at Mallala turned out okay thanks to luck, lighting and all the automated features available on my trusty EOS.

These next photographs are some I took of my first car. A five speed, rust free $600 KE70 Corolla. Best car I ever had and I kick myself regularly for selling it for $800. I distinctly remember these being the first photos I ever took with this camera, or on film in general. These were the photos that would go on to solidify my film \’journey\’….

Fuck I hate that word…

But it\’s not a career is it?

\"\"

I think I found my \’art\’.
